CUT CANOPY HOUSE — TEDDINGTON

Extension and full refurbishment of a semi detached three storey house for a local developer.

The brief for the project was to redevelop a three bedroom dilapidated semi detached property into a five bedroom, three en-suite house with large open plan kitchen, dining and living space with separate utility room an WC.

This was achieved extending at roof level and adding two gable-end dormers to create two additional bedrooms, with one acting as the master suite with dressing area and en-suite accommodation.  The first floor was reconfigured to create two back to back bathrooms in the centre of the floor plate, borrowing space from existing over-generous bedrooms.  Built-in furniture was added throughout, including a full wall AV unit on the ground floor living room which also hid new services to the upper floors.  The ground floor was suitably enlarged by the addition of a single storey flat roof rear extension, with bifold door line angled to the aperture and perpendicular to the garden, which creates a natural canopy and brise soleil.
